Carnegie Deli (Mirage Hotel)

/ Updated on June 8, 2014

The Las Vegas branch of New York's iconic Carnegie Deli is a bit more civilized than its Big Apple namesake (that can be a good or a bad thing depending on how raucous you like your Kosher delis). Located on the Mirage casino floor (walk to the left after you enter the casino from the front entrance), it seems there's always a line. In a town where it always seems to be a choice among Food Courts, Celebrity Chef fru-fru and burgers, the Corned Beef/Pastrami options are a welcome change. (The “Woody Allen,” has about a pound of each. And don't forget the bright green half-done pickles and all the fixins'.) For a more detailed discussion of the food, check out my article on the New York Carnegie Deli in Foodie on the Road New York.

Avoid the lines and go late in the evening (note that they have the cheesecake) or mid-afternoon so you'll have time to recover and you won't have to sleep standing up. Click here for a look at the gargantuan menu. (24/7). Price range: Expensive -.
