Restaurateur and club owner Bryan Derrickson has opened Crushers Crabs & Crushes in the old Port 251 space at the corner of Lake & The Avenue. The space has extensive outdoor seating, most of it covered. It's fun sitting out there to people watch!
Derrickson also acquired the old “snowball shack” in the parking lot where Vince Failla's Cup'r Cone Ice Cream concept is now doing business. Vince has already been quite successful with his truck of the same name.
Crusher's focuses on, well, of course crushes. AND steamed hardshells. And also a clever menu that includes some interesting items. DO NOT miss the calamari. It is exceptional! Derrickson has expanded the outdoor seating to make the place seem less “enclosed.” Check out the menu HERE.
Get the Crusher's Crush – Bryan's own concoction for those of us who love Old Bay. The selection of wings is good, with some tasty sauces. One of the things that is in common with all of Bryan's properties (Hideout Arcade Bar & Grill, Conch Island Key West Bar & Grill) is the burger. And they are always good.
My pick hits (at the moment) are that calamari, the shrimp salad roll and the exceptional crab bruschetta. You owe it to yourself to be adventurous: try the Old Bay chocolate ice cream. Life is short: walk on the wild side……….
At the moment they are open 3 – 10 every day.
sure would be nice if cup n cone would have a drive-thru concept – even tho there’s a lot, that will be filled with Crushers customers !!!
