SoDel/GirlScout Throwdown!

/ Updated on April 6, 2016

At 6:00 on Thursday, March 24 at Northeast Seafood Kitchen, SoDel Concepts' annual Girl Scout Cookie Throwdown drew a sold-out crowd as each of 9 SoDel Concepts chefs competed to win the coveted Girl Scout Cookie Cup that had, up to then, been in the possession of 2015 winner (and Northeast Seafood Kitchen Chef) Alex Martinez. Plate Catering chef Anthony Leonardi's ToffeeTastic Ice Box Cake was in first place, as judges Pam George from DelawareToday and Delaware Beach Life, Bulldog and CJ from 98.1FM's Rude Awakening morning show, the Sassy Banana from DelmarvaNow, yours truly The Rehoboth Foodie, and 90-year-old Anna Foultz, purported to be the oldest Girl Scout in Worcester County, became increasingly addled by sugar shock.

Second place was snagged by Chef Stu Weisman from Papa Grande's Fenwick with his Mexican peanut butter mousse made with dosidos. Chris Parks from Rehoboth's Lupo Italian Kitchen was third from the top with his Samoas mascarpone cake sprinkled with crunchy coconut.

As part of the annual event, SoDel Concepts donates one dollar to GSA for each Girl Scout dessert sold in the month of March. A giant check was presented at the end of the event.
