Houston's is known for high-quality comfort food, salads and fun, noisy bars. The stars of the show at Houston's are the hamburgers (order the hickory burger with the BBQ sauce on the side) and the grilled chicken salad (crispy with tortilla strips, fresh cool greens, and their to-die-for Honey Lime Vinaigrette dressing. They top the whole thing off with a nutty peanut sauce).
Accompanying foodies have always loved the French Dip, the Salmon, and Tuna and Prime Rib entrees. Hillstone Restaurant Group has mixed and matched some of the old Houston's locations (sadly closing the Rockville, Md. location and changing the name of the Bethesda, MD Houston's to Woodmont Grill), but don't pass up a Houston's just because it's a chain.
There are four in Atlanta (there's one in NYC also), and The Foodie's favorite is the one at 2166 Peachtree Road, N.W., about halfway between Buckhead and the downtown area. Eat at the friendly bar.
