Well, it seems like forever since I posted that Rudy Gilbert was bringing his cheese concept to the old Touch of Italy/Grandpa Mac location! The end of last year Grandpa Mac boss Hari Cameron asked me to keep it on the down-low for a while, but the lights are on, the cheese is cold and the fondue will (hopefully some day soon) be bubbling!
Rudy's special cheese plates are designed with pairing in mind. Either with food, wines, beer or spirits. Around $25 buys his combinations which can of course be tailored to the buyer's specific desires. Soups, salads, pizzas and baked goods round out the surprisingly varied menu (for such a small place). We'll post some photos soon, and don't miss Rudy on my radio show soon.
Current hours are 10am to around 10pm weekdays, until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays and until 7 on Sundays. I suspect those late hours will change as soon as Rudy gets the lay of the land there on Baltimore Avenue.
