Caesar Rodney and Cape Henlopen ProStart® students win top honors at the DE ProStart® Student Invitational. The winners will advance to the Nationals.

Over 150 ProStart® students from Delaware high schools competed in Dover, Delaware on Friday, March 10th for the 10th Annual Delaware ProStart® Student Invitational. Hosted by the Delaware Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (DRAEF), the statewide competition featured a record-breaking combined 25 culinary and management teams who were judged on teamwork, culinary expertise and restaurant industry management skills. Students from Caesar Rodney High School took home 1st place honors for the culinary competition (their fourth consecutive win, after taking top honors in 2022, 2020 and 2019), and students from Cape Henlopen High School were awarded 1st place honors in the management competition.

Both Delaware 1st place teams will advance to the National ProStart Student Invitational this May in Washington, D.C. The culinary team from Caesar Rodney High School returns to the National Invitational after winning the nationwide 1st place culinary title in May, 2022.

Teams in the Delaware Invitational compete for state honors, the chance to represent Delaware at the National Student Invitational, curated prize packs, plus over $2.5 million in available scholarships to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. This year the event also featured a “Chopped” style throwdown competition hosted by event sponsor Delaware Army National Guard (featuring MRE rations as secret basket ingredients) for additional culinary teams.
