In their December, 2014 edition, Food Network Magazine selected Snyder’s Candy Saltwater Taffy as Delaware’s best local confection. They wrote, “Candy is always a go-to holiday gift, but a box of candy from a friend’s home state is even sweeter.”
After sampling confections for over five months, Food Network Magazine staff chose saltwater taffy from Snyder’s Candy in Rehoboth Beach as their top pick for Delaware. In response to being chosen for the State of Delaware, Snyder’s Candy owner Jeff Balk said, “I am very proud to have Snyder’s Candy represent the First State. This is a huge honor, especially with celebrating our 75th anniversary next year here in Rehoboth Beach.”
Open year-round and located at 60 Rehoboth Avenue, Snyder’s Candy opened in 1940 and has over 70 varieties of saltwater taffy, over 80 types of licorice, cases of Asher’s Chocolate, a gummy bar for kids to mix and match as well as more than 45 flavors of Jelly Belly, fudge, truffles and candies from around the world.
