The White Chimney Inn stayed open after the 1968 incident until 1973. I worked there until it closed.
If Carl and Lenny’s indeed was the successor to the White Chimney, then Fran Obrien’s after that as you state……..that would make the next restaurant to take over that building oddly incorrectly named, as “The Third Edition” moved in after Fran Obrien’s closed. As you know, The Third Edition restaurant was named after it being the 3rd restaurant to occupy that space.
If I recall correctly, Bob Ching’s White Chimney Inn became Fran O’Brians after the murder/suicide that took place and resulting closing of the White Chimney.
