The iconic BJ's on the Water restaurant at 75th and the bay in Ocean City closed for good on January 31. It was great run, but the owners are ready to sell. The plan is to replace it with multi-story bayfront eatery.
Opened in '79 by Maddy and Billy Carder, BJ's has been a longtime go-to spot for locals and visitors alike. The ritual ‘feeding of the ducks' was a must-do while noshing on wings, burgers and a brew or two. Or 3. Always loved the aroma of fresh popcorn from the brightly lit machine by the front door
Ropewalk owner Chris Reda plans to call the new facility Windward OC. I'll keep you posted.
Onward and upward, I guess….
