Mission BBQ has finally opened in Tanger Seaside in Rehoboth Beach. It is in the spot formerly occupied by Gap Kids, behind the Chipotle. This will be #4 in Delaware. The chain boasts over 130 locations.
Former Under Armor executive Bill Kraus and Steve Newton, formerly with Outback Steakhouse, opened their first venture Sept. 11, 2011 – a date that will certainly live in infamy. The patriotic bent of the BBQ chain is an inspiration to many, with the Star Spangled Banner playing at noon every day. It's especially exciting to see the reaction in Dover (just minutes from Dover Air Force Base) as the majority of customers stand in respect.
Mission is an extremely generous operation, donating millions to causes such as the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Global War on Terror Memorial Fund, Special Operations Warrior Fund, Navy Seals Foundation, Semper Fi & America’s Fund, Wreaths Across America, CIA Officers Memorial Foundation, Flight Network, USO, Concerns of Police Survivors, and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. In Delaware alone, Mission supports the USO and various police, fire and first responders organizations.
