Sometimes after a hard day there's nothing better than a quiet bar with friendly servers. One of the best is the Onyx, right smack in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Buckhead. Thirty-foot ceilings, overstuffed chairs (spaced far apart) and little nooks and crannies created by hanging sheers frame a floor-to-ceiling glass wall that looks out at a botanical garden, complete with waterfall. The servers' Southern hospitality is apparent, and the food is surprisingly good for a hotel bar. When in Atlanta, The Foodie can be found tucked away in one of the hidden alcoves, nursing a White Sambuca (3 beans, please) and politely nibbling on the delicious flatbread (frou-frou code for “tiny, crispy pizza”)
The Grand Hyatt Buckhead is at the intersection of Piedmont and Peachtree in Buckhead. When it comes to friendly service and amazing views of the city (not to mention the lobby bar), there's no better place to stay in the Buckhead area.
