It is with great sadness that we must report that Chuck from the Pelican Grill has posted a sign saying that the Pelican closed permanently on December 31, 2015. We suspect that this is partly the result of future development of the Marsh Island Golf Course and perhaps Chuck's not finding an acceptable location. Either way, his burgers, gumbo and friendly demeanor will certainly be missed.

I’m so saddened to see this. Chuck warned us it may happen. We wish Chuck and his wife only the best in their next adventure!!
I will forever dream of their crab bisque. So sad… It was a hidden gem!
Truly one of the very best places in beach area. Will be missed. Still hoping for a new location.
Hope it’s replaced with something as good. My husband says the burgers were fantastic and I loved their soups as well as their fresh daily specials. A nice atmosphere, few good tap beers and a nice wine menu made it a perfect local stop.
It will probably be replaced by a housing development.
Bummer! This place was my favorite treat after loading up on plants at East Coast.
Oh no! I just discovered this place and had a wonderful lunch with friends. Keep us posted where that wonderful chef lands!
