Grove Market boss Leslie Lunga has sold her iconic (yet tiny) restaurant in Bishopville, just west of Ocean City, Md. This landmark eatery – just a couple of notches up from a bait shack – is well-known for its fine-dining fare, coupled with its extremely informal physical plant. The place barely seated 20 – 30 people and had a legendary reservations system. Fellow Cape Gazette columnist John McDonald was the executive chef there for many years.
The new owner is Bill Fetterolf and partners, operating as BetterFetter Grove, Inc. They are seasoned restaurateurs in their own right.
We'll keep you posted!
Your taste buds will love you. Amazing selection apps, entrees and of course desserts. Such and enjoyable meal. The owner and staff are very friendly and nice and make you feel at home. Superstars!
Did they keep the same chef.?
No. Chef John McDonald has not cooked there for a while. But the new people are doing a very good job.
Do keep us posted — the Grove is an experience! It was the most unusual dining venue on the Coast, and everything was so delicious! I hope the new owners keep the amazing standards and quirkiness of the place.
Actually I had several friends who went last weekend under the new ownership. They said it was just as good. Especially their famous duck!
