Jakes Downtown Closed

/ Updated on December 14, 2017

After 30 years, Jakes Seafood restaurant at the corner of Baltimore Avenue and First Street locked its doors for the last time on Saturday, November 25th. The Foodie was asked not to publicize the closing until owner Bill Klemkowski could break the news in the Cape Gazette. Bill is a super nice guy, and this is obviously a very emotional time, so I chose to comply with his request. Read the details of what he said by clicking HERE.

Ever since the zoning/variance issues regarding the Jakes Seafood on Coastal Highway, plans to replace the highway restaurant with a hotel have been abandoned. At least for now.

I loved the place and the food. Always a highlight to my Rehoboth experiences.

My husband and I recently ate at Jakes in RB and had a delicious meal! We live in Milton and hate to see it close! We found during the summer, parking and riding the bus to RB was a great way to go! We passed all the bumper-to-bumper traffic and the buses run frequently back and forth! Our grandchildren loved riding the bus! Saved us the hassle of trying to find parking and feeding the meter. Also, met a lot of nice people to chat with on the bus!
