Old Dogfish No More

/ Updated on January 14, 2018

After twenty-two years, the original Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats pub came down on Monday, Nov. 6.  From the resulting vacant lot there will rise a new glass-enclosed merchandise store and a grand courtyard linking the new Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats with Chesapeake & Maine restaurant. Both Chesapeake & Maine and the new Brewings & Eats will remain open during construction.

Click to hear Sam Calagione talk about the new addition with The Rehoboth Foodie on the 11/25 Sip & Bite Show.

Wondering about the accompanying image? Apparently nobody told Mariah Calagione about this! She went in to grab a Namaste White and some chili and … well, you see her expression. We need to keep her in the loop! She knows the boss!

Epitomizing the soul of Dogfish since 1995, the old pub originated as the smallest commercial brewery in the United States and the beginning of the Dogfish Head story.  This past May, 2017, a new Brewings & Eats opened right next door continuing the exciting Dogfish journey.  The original pub makes way for a new courtyard tentatively planned to open in spring 2018. Stay tuned for additional information from The Rehoboth Foodie in the coming months!
