The delightful father & daughter team of George & Irene Vrentzos have moved on from their popular Corner Grille at First & Wilmington. For those of us who know them, that's bad news.
But the good news is that the new owner is none other than all-around-nice-guy George “Goolee” Stakias from the delicious Goolee's Grille at 2nd & Baltimore in Ocean City. Like the Vrentzos', Stakias is all about family and works closely with his experienced restaurateur dad (he owned the Penn Restaurant on Pratt St. in downtown Baltimore for 36 years) to keep everything high in quality.
The Foodie reviewed Goolees in OC a couple of years ago and loved it. Don't miss the pancakes, and get ready for the coconut french toast at the new Goolee's Grille … just sayin'….
The Vrentzos' will certainly be missed, but new owner George will not let them down.
