Just a quick mention of this very friendly little place. As we strolled down South St. looking for an outdoor perch from which to enjoy happy hour, the tiny tile and wrought iron tables at 148 South St in front of Las Bugambilias beckoned with a Mexican accent.
We felt right at home as manager/hostess/South St. good-will ambassador Nicole scampered in and out of the doorway, waiting on people in-between running out into the street to say hello to friends passing by. She is certainly a value-added for this tiny restaurant, and makes things upbeat and happy.
Do not miss their standard margarita. Happy Hour prices make 'em ridiculously affordable, and several are well within the range of possibility. We did not eat there on this trip, as we had reservations at a place around the corner (if it had been any farther away, we might not have made it).
Las Bugambilias is at the very top of our dinner list for the next visit. Call for hours at 215-922-3190. If you get there first, tell Nicole the Rehoboth Foodie said hi. Then click here to tell us about it.
