Pho Ha

/ Updated on June 16, 2017

One of the things we like about traveling is that we get some of the ethnic food that we so enjoyed in Washington, D.C., but that our little beach town is lacking.

One of our go-to spots in Philadelphia is Pho Ha, in the very Vietnamese area around 6th and Washington Ave. Though they have an extensive menu, my favorite is the summer rolls (Gòi Cuôn) and Pho Ga, or chicken Pho.

Out of all the Vietnamese joints in that area, I picked this one because it is consistently full of happy Vietnamese locals devouring all sorts of goodies. So the place must be doing something right.

You can call to check their hours (215) 599-0264. I have read mixed reviews regarding a change in ownership/management, but our experiences so far have been positive.

If you know of a better place, feel free to fill us in. We'll try it.

I came across your blog while visiting my folks in Lincoln, DE and looking for a place to get pho.

I live near the Pho District in Philly and my favorite place to go is Viet Huong at 11th and Washington (South Philly). They also have some of the best wonton soup I’ve ever had.

Definitely check it out next time you’re in Philadelphia.

I’m a huge fan of pho. Its a shame they dont serve it anywhere lcoal to Delmarva that i know of besides saketumi and stingray. Stingray isn’t traditional and adds carrots and other vegetables sliced thinly that take away from the flavor of the broth-soaked noodles. I didn’t like it. Saketumi was okay, but was lacking something. It’s a shame, because in my home-town neighborhood of silver spring, there are plenty of Pho places to try. My favorite is a small place in a shopping strip of Briggs Chaney Road, just south of Burtonsville, Md called “Pho Real”

Please, please tell someone to open a traditional Pho place near the beach!
