Edie Bees Confection Shop

/ Updated on May 16, 2014

Former Agave kitchen boss Leisa Berlin (original owner of Second Street Popcorn and Candies (several years ago), and mom of Agave owner Chris McKeown has opened Edie Bee's Confection Shop just in time for the sweet summer season with all manner of sweets, licorice, top-quality chocolates and vintage candies. Edie Bees is at 115 Second St. where Cake Bar and Second Street Grill used to be. Leisa's daughter Sarah McKeown has opened a juice bar and restaurant in the back with small bites and breakfasts. But in the front, sweet treats are the order of the day.

You will enjoy the memories some of these candies will evoke. Over 220 jars full of colorful sweets line the shelves, and the top-end chocolates are not available anywhere else here at the beach. “No, I don't expect to get rich off of this,” says the original owner of Second Street Popcorn & Candies, “but I just felt that Lewes needed a quality candy store. And this is it.”

This shop is as pleasing to the eye as it is to your sweet tooth. It’s sections of color-coordinated candy of all sorts just beg you to grab a bag and a scoop and get a little of each one that appeals. A great, fun addition to Lewes!

I believe that every destination spot should have a sweet shop. I can’t wait to visit Edie Bees during my stay in August 2013. I really feel like I am on vacation when I can spend some time admiring the sweet treats that I have to pick from to make my vacation complete. Thank you for recognizing the need!!

OH How very much fun this shop was for me. Beautiful and so sweet smelling. I had someone take a picture of me in the store because it was so bright and cheerful.
I bought several varieties and was joyful with every piece of candy that I savored.
What a difference quality ingredients makes.
I just phoned the shop to see about having some candy shipped to me in upstate New York.
I thank you for this delightful experience.
