Being a bi-cultural family, and having lived in two countries and seven states, we felt the only connector was our memories of food and wine. From mom's chicken ‘n dumplings to a Jose Andres masterpiece, we love them all. And the journey continues, in search of exquisite yet affordable wines to complement our everyday as well as our special meals.
We ordered the Duca Enrico last week because we fell in love with thedeep rich fruit flavors like plum and black cherry — not to mention the bright ruby red color with garnet highlights! On the nose is a perfect blend of ripe fruit, irises and spices. Soft tannins of this wine made the Smooth & Structured profile. This is one of the most well balanced yet nuanced wines we've tasted in a long time. You can't help but love the character and scent of perfectly blended wood. Yet the vanilla and smoky undertones don't overpower the fruit.
This wine comes from Sicily, and this 100% Nero d'Avola grape is rare. The Duca Enrico is simply a delicious find.
Our customers who are red wine drinkers like medium to full bodied reds and the Duca Enrico will pair well with pasta with marinara sauce, red meats, and medium aged cheeses. Or it can be a lovely meditation wine. The Duca Enrico retails for $76.99.
Suited to the eclectic way most of us eat and drink now, this wine is about a wonderful and exuberant synergy of flavors. We think you will love it too.
Good idea, Wayne. Catherine is now including the prices for all the Teller articles.
TKS for your note.
Very nice review of this wine, but I’d always want to know the price.
