Well, it took 'em long enough, but the Beef Jerky Outlet that shares the new Schell Building with Minh's Bistro Vietnamese Restaurant is up and running. Yes, I know I made some jokes about it (will I EVER live that down!?!) but I have to tell you that I was pleasantly surprised. They offer little samples of the products before you buy them, and there is a wide range of products including jerky made from salmon and from turkey. They also sell funny T-shirts (all with carnivorous themes, of course – the thin-skinned will be outraged – I love it) and some great candies.
The grand opening is on Saturday, Sept 30. And they are discounting ALL JERKY 20% for the entire day.

Rehoboth Foodie pick hits at this early stage are: The chocolate-covered hazelnuts (gadzooks!), the Cracked Black Pepper jerky, the Cajun BBQ Smoked Beef Brisket jerky, the Chop House-Style Prime Rib Jerky and the Carolina Reaper Smoked Beef jerky (beware: HOT!). The friendly guy on duty on our first visit could not have been more helpful. They also sell some BBQ sauces (INCLUDING the hard-to-find Maker's Mark Bourbon BBQ sauce), spices and other helpful tools for those of us who rip & tear our food.
On our third visit we discovered the cordials. These are little round chocolate-covered candies with liquid inside. DO NOT MISS the blackberry and the amaretto!
