Dover's iconic LaBaguette bakery will open around December 9th in the old Touch of Italy bakery space in Five Points – across from Arena's at the circle. Anita and Ludovic Bezy have operated their French pastry and sandwich shop in Dover for many years. And wait 'til you taste their croissants!
More good news — Anite and Ludovic will inherit Touch of Italy's huge bread oven in Lewes and will continue to operate it to provide Touch of Italy with their fresh breads. All other Touch of Italy pastry operations are being moved to the new “Chef's Table” facility adjacent to the Rehoboth Touch of Italy.
The last time you could buy anything that resembled a real French baguette locally was when Lingo’s Market sold baguettes made by the french wife of one of their sons….After going to La Baguette on several occasions ,I’m afraid this is still the case.
Hurry up I am very hungry
Perhaps a lovely Nicoise???? That would be great
So excited you are here!!!
Congrats !!
Do we know the date that they will open for business?
Oh, it’ll be a while. Touch of Italy is not fully moved out yet.
Une bonne nouvelle! We have made a point of stopping at their Dover bakery en route to PHL airport. The baguette is authentic, and the pastries are decadent & delicious. Look forward to their Five Points location, right along the Lewes-Georgetown bike trail. In the meantime, Kaisy’s Delights in Lewes and in downtown Rehoboth uses the baguette from Anita and Ludovic’s Dover ovens for its sandwiches. Wishing these entrepreneurs all the best in this new endeavor in Sussex County!
LaBaguette is fabulous. We make it a point to stop at Dover location any time we are near. So happy they are going to be nearer to our home with their new location. Great bread, pastries and exquisite quiche. See you soon!
More temptation to try to avoid haha
This is “vraiment” great news! Looking forward to some great croissants and French inspired sandwiches and baked goods nearby!
