On May 1st, the uptown Phillips Seafood House at 141st St. in Ocean City will become the Bayside Cantina. Though it was always busy (it WAS Phillips, after all), as far as I'm concerned that location never really lived up to the iconic 21st St. mothership, Phillips Crab House – thriving in the same location for over 60 years! So the longtime owners have taken the cue and are giving Mexican food a try.
I applaud their move, and all the whiners who are expressing horror over this change can easily slip down to 22nd St. for the Phillips experience. I wish them the best.
