SoDel Cares, the philanthropic arm of SoDel Concepts, will hold its third annual fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 17, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Fish On in the Villages of Five Points in Lewes. The event, which raises funds for the nonprofit foundation, pays tribute to the late Matt Haley, SoDel Concepts’ founder, who received the James Beard Foundation Humanitarian of the Year Award in 2014.
SoDel Cares’ primary mission is to support and strengthen the community in which SoDel Concepts does business. Over the years, the nonprofit has made contributions to organizations that help children, at-risk youth and adults, and the elderly. Beneficiaries have included the Rehoboth Beach Boys & Girls Club, The Freeman Stage at Bayside, the Harry K Foundation, and Pathways to Success.
The Nov. 17 fundraiser will feature live music and silent and live auctions. One of the best auction items is a dinner for 10 – IN YOUR HOME – prepared and served by Touch of Italy boss Bob Ciprietti, Bob Yesbek (aka The Rehoboth Foodie and his legendary fried chicken), and Rehoboth's original cheesemonger himself, Bill Wilson! “We receive so much support from local businesses,” Kammerer said. “The bidding should be fast and furious this year—we have some amazing items.” Of course Scott was referring to the Foodie/Touch of Italy dinner.
SoDel Cares suggests a donation of $25 at the door. For information, call Fish On at 302-645-9790.
