Winter WonderFEST is Back

Winter WonderFEST is creating holiday memories here at the beach yet again, with Schell Bros. and LaVida Hospitality as presenting sponsors! The Winter WonderFEST extravaganza included live music, skating (on a REAL ice rink this year!), carnival rides, Santa’s workshop, a s’mores firepit — and the Light Spectacular on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays … until January 1.

Thanksgiving weekend marks Winter WonderFEST’s second Grand Opening as it welcomes vehicle traffic to tour the Light Spectacular, which is 30% larger and has a new route nestled in the picturesque camp ground of the park. For the first weekend “Dashing through The Show” hosted over 2500 visitors for the kickoff.
With its first year’s success raising over $150,000, organizers knew the time and place was right for Winter WonderFEST.  “We used our resources wisely, including sponsorships and scores of dedicated volunteers,” says John Snow, President of Festival of Cheer, Inc., the nonprofit organization consisting of local business and community leaders who are responsible for the event, as well as its planning, oversight, and execution.  “Last year proved we could do it, but we know it has to grow and expand,” adds Snow. “Our leadership group quickly concluded that Winter WonderFEST has to be bigger, brighter, and cooler in order to sustain its growth and momentum.”

How do they do it!?!?! Listen to Josh Grapski and Steph Roselle on Sip & Bite with the Rehoboth Foodie for a behind-the-scenes peek at last year’s event!

The Winterfest is wonderful! Thank you to la Vida for being a driving force in bringing this great addition to Lewes. it is a wonderful Christmas gift to all of us here in town. I am more than happy to give $20 to charity to see the lights and have gone more than once. No discount needed.
