Pig & Fish OUT; -?? IN?

/ Updated on April 17, 2017

We regret to report that the always friendly Pig & Fish Restaurant Company restaurant on Rehoboth Avenue has closed its doors as of Saturday, April 15th.

But don’t be sad for owners Doug & Lisa Frampton and their team — the wildly popular Pickled Pig Pub on Coastal Highway and the even more popular (if that’s possible) Pig & Publican in Lewes demand a huge amount of attention, and something had to give. You CAN be sad, however, for those of us who loved the wonderful bar with Chippers and crew tending to all your medical needs. Many of the P&F servers, kitchen people and bartenders will be appearing at Pickled Pig Pub and Pig & Publican, so we’ll get to see them again soon.

Liquor license issues being what they are, all we can tell you right now is that all indicators point to a new wine bar opening in that storied spot where Alyson Blyth got her start as a server at Astral Plane, and then Sydney Arzt created the historic Sydney’s restaurant and club, featuring Creole eats and professional jazz groups year-round – long before anyone else had the nerve to do so.

We’ll keep you posted.

So sorry to hear that Pig & Fish closed. Was my favorite place when visiting Rehoboth. Sorry, tried Pickled and was very disappointed in both the food and service. Was nowhere near the quality of Pig & Fish. 🙁

So sorry to hear this! Pig and Fish was our favorite and Chipper is the best waiter ever! Please let me know where he will be working now.

I trust that the gift certificate that we purchased from the Rehoboth Ave location will be honored at either of the other two locations?? Can someone confirm this for me? Thanks!

Hard to believe given the choice Pig and Fish was the one to give up. I can’t believe having a location on Rt. 1 is better than having a location on the Avenue. Very sad indeed as we typically choose a restaurant in town vice on the highway.

wish someone like Sydney would come to town that music venue has been sorely missed 🙁

Amazing. I called this in the car last night on the way to dinner.

Amazing how many restaurants are vacating downtown Rehoboth. One has to wonder if the high rents and lack of free parking also contributes to the exodus to Highway 1. I know when we have family and friends visiting, Route 1 restaurants are our choice.

I can see where you are coming from with this comment. If you live in town or are renting for a week it is no big deal. A lot of my local friends Uber in and out, Free parking on the street would be a disaster in town. In busy resort towns like Delray Beach there is valet, for a steep price but people pay it. And I guess no way to do a validated parking… yet.
I think the food here is excellent and the happy hour can’t be beat, but there is stiff competition at the price point of the dinner. A dinner for two, a shared appetizer or desert with a bottle of wine is going to be way over $100 for two. I wish the owners continued success with the other two excellent restaurants.
