Makin’ Whoopie

/ Updated on August 14, 2017

LaVida Lekker LLC’s franchise manager Joshua Mellinger and partner Greg Lewis have opened their Makin’ Whoopie Pies on the ocean Block of Rehoboth Avenue where America’s Pie used to be. The other stores are in Virginia Beach and Hershey, Pa. In 2015, the franchisor’s first store opened in Hersheypark in Hershey PA.  After their first season, they were awarded the IAAPA 2015 Brass Ring Award for “Best New Food Concept.” The concept has been a success so far. And the freshly made pies look good. Check out the gallery.

Check out the gallery for some pics of their goodies. Click here to hear Josh, Greg (and young whoopie connoisseurs Sophia and Nathan) explain the vagaries of whoopie to The Rehoboth Foodie in the July 15th Sip & Bite Show at Delaware 105.9FM.

You can get the traditional whoopie fillings in a variety of flavors and with a variety of cake tops and bottoms, along with ice cream fillings too. And don’t miss that Chocolate Chiller thing. It is AMAZING.

(Note that LaVida Lekker LLC is not affiliated with LaVida Hospitality Group here in Delaware.)

About the Author

"My goal is to promote Rehoboth Beach dining while remaining honest and impartial. I don’t gush unless a place deserves it, and I don’t pull punches, either. With so many good places to eat around here, it just doesn’t make sense to waste the calories — or the money — on anything less." View all articles written by The Rehoboth Foodie
