Gabriel's Restaurant & Bakery is in the same strip center where Chicken and the Egg is located. It is a short waddle down the sidewalk to enter Gabriel's magical world of desserts. The case is full of beautifully iced
hummingbird cakes, red velvet cakes, yellow layer cakes, toasted coconut cakes, Italian cream cakes, and one of their signature creations, their famous strawberry cake. Cheesecakes (8 varieties) and pound cakes (9 varieties) round out the 
selection. If you find yourself in the Marietta, Georgia area, have dinner at Chicken and the Egg, but save room for Gabriel's. You'll be glad you did.
Most cakes are also sold by the slice.
Gabriels is at 800 Whitlock Ave., Marietta. It's a bit of a drive from the city, so call first. 770-427-9007. They're closed on Sundays. Go figure.
