Soula Leaves the Mall

/ Updated on September 8, 2017

Former Corner Grille matriarch and expert seamstress Soula Vrentzos has finally left the defunct Rehoboth Mall (she was the last of the small stores to leave – she even outlasted Radio Shack!). They are turning the mall into a post office warehouse. Those of you who follow this sort of thing will remember Soula as the wife and mother of George and Irene Vrentzos (respectively) who operated the Corner Grill at 1st and Wilmington for a long time. It was a favorite hangout for locals in the off season who loved to hold court there while sipping coffee and enjoying George’s delicious breakfasts and club sandwiches. Lucky visitors to Alterations by Soula will often encounter George helping out with customers and locating things in the store where Soula can’t find them.

Soula is setting up her Singer, bobbins and hangers in Lewes, a bit north of Surf Bagel at 17316 Coastal Highway, Unit #3. Call her at 302-645-5266. Driving north, turn left immediately after you pass Surf Bagel. Soula is in a brown house BEHIND the building with the blue roof. Look for her “Alterations by Soula” sign.

She is famous for enlarging the clothes of faithful Rehoboth Foodie followers … none the least of which the Rehoboth Foodie himself.

Congratulations, Soula!
