Oktoberfest in Lewes 9/19

/ Updated on September 19, 2014

The Lewes Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring their third no-beer Oktoberfest on Friday, September 19 from 4 to 6:30 p.m.  Market Street, between Front Street and Second Street, will be closed to vehicular traffic from 3 – 7 p.m.

Of course, the consumption of beer and German food are integral to an Oktoberfest celebration, but Lewes' biergarten will operate  MINUS the bier to be in compliance with the City’s ordinances.  Dogfish Head's glass beer steins will be on sale beginning Monday, September 15 at the Chamber’s visitor center and at the festival site beginning at 3 pm on Friday, September 19. Want beer? The steins can be taken into participating restaurants and presented to receive a discount on Dogfish Head beer. German cuisine will be featured in many of the restaurants.

Costumed Bavarian-style dancers will be performing along with a 10-piece German Oompah band. Everyone is encouraged to wear their lederhosen and dirndls and show off your best dancing skills. For more information, call Lewes Chamber of Commerce – 302-645-8073 or email inquiry@leweschamber.com.
